Magic of the Holidays

It’s that time of the year, the time where snowflakes and wonder collide int a spectacular union of hot chocolate and miseltoe. Where people come together and embrace, showering each other with love, gratitude and gifts, while celebrating a time of the year that is filled with Santa Claus, Manorahs, Kinaras and the like. It’s ultimately a celebration of life, and a discovery of who we are, where we belong in the world and faith. So Happy Holidays my friends, however and whatever you chose to observe, celebrate fiercely and with love and compassion.

This is the time of year many people feel more isolated and suffocated by family. Some have no family, some have “too much” family, and people are pushy, temperamental and lacking compassion. Many times we forget these people because we are so absorbed in our own lives. We forget to be compassionate and kind to those less fortunate then us. That is what the holiday season is about.

So what should we remember about this time of the year? Be compassionate and accepting of others religions, family, and mentalities. You never know what someone is going through. The holidays are a time of introspection, what is going good for you, what isn’t working for you. It allows you to look within and do some cleaning and practice gratitude and manifestation for the new year. It’s also a time of faith, faith in a higher power, and faith in yourself.

We tend to forget the true magic of what Christmas and other holidays is. In all the holiday hustle and bustle we set our eyes on the prize of giving gifts. That is the priority of what the holiday season has become. The sales, the I want this, I want that mentality floods everyone’s frontal cortex and we put those other ideals of compassion, kindness, and generosity on the back burner. But what if instead we started to put those as the main to do’s? What if we stopped buying and selling a holiday with consumerism and stepped into someone else’s shoes.

Lets make the holidays a time of celebrating life, family and community. Let’s make it about faith in humanity and spreading love and cheer, especially to those who are struggling. Christmas and other holidays is a time for miracles, a time for humanity to show the good and virtuous parts of what makes us. Sure this should be practiced all year, but I’m asking we take it back from Amazon and Wayfair, because we are not bought and paid for. We are beings of love, light and imagination. Let’s celebrate that, and the religions we observe. Let’s rejoice in our lives and spread love and light. Merry Holidays my friend. May the year 2021 shine abundance and happiness your way, as you venture forth into the new year.
