Slow and Steady

What does goals and dreams require of you? Steady consistent action. It doesn’t ask if you can pound the ground everyday, or if you can be at your best, it just asks you to make an effort and put the beat foot forward. The best gift you can give yourself is to practice patience and consistency.

There are times when we get overwhelmed and that is usually when we are looking at getting to the goal. That is not the point of right now. The point of right now is to be. Its to embrace the moment and live in it. If we are so busy looking ahead about how on earth are we going to achieve the goal then we are doomed to repeat the same mistakes, the same lessons and the same worries.

I want you to see everything ahead of you already completed. Imagine you have already put all the jigsaw pieces together. Now alls you have to do is worry about one piece at a time. If you can imagine its already done then all you have to do is be consistent and steady while working in alignment with your goals. Super easy right! It really is that easy! When I think of my new space I imagine its already set up to the way I want and that business is booming! Now every-time I start freaking out I take a deep breath and just let myself gain a sense of control. I do this by becoming present with what I can actually take charge of!

Slow and steady wins the race. Remember the old tale about the tortoise and the hare. The moral was all about taking your time and pacing yourself instead of speeding through everything is how you win the race. That is what manifestation is like, slow and steady. We get so caught up in the instant gratification and having everything done right away, right now that we forget how to enjoy this process. Technology has helped us achieve our dreams so much faster but it has also  made us forget how to be patient.

Some ways to allow yourself to be patient are:

-find something else to do that is in alignment with your goal or one of your goals.

-Go read instead of worrying about how it will get done.

-Be present in what you are currently doing it.

-Enjoy the things you are doing right now and let go of controlling the future.

If things come up that aren’t part of the plan, breathe then own it. Life is unexpected and full of surprises. It’s inevitable, so why stress yourself out on something you can’t control? If you need to find the humor in it and laugh about it. If you can laugh about the things you can’t control then that act will leave you forgetting what you were stressing in the first place.

In February I was stressing myself out so much on everything I needed to do to be able to move into my new space in May. All of it overwhelmed me until I was so stressed I reached burnout. So once I came back I pulled back on what I can accomplish. My time frame became clear and my actions became geared towards one step at a time. Taking step by step and not always thinking about all the how’s to get there allows you to stay focused on the present. It also showed me to pull back and stop over reaching or overthinking, observe what is present and get busy charging at that. Right now is your focus, right now is all you have.

Positive thinking through the process is great but please make sure that you use “mental contrasting” while reaching goals. We want to believe that we have achieved our goals with positive reinforcement and thinking, but we need to take it a step further. It’s not all about just thinking there must be realistic actions taken towards the goal that fall in the alignment with it. Otherwise you will have the puzzle all done without the pieces fitting right.

It’s almost the 1 year anniversary of my blog. March 16th 2020 I began this journey. I didn’t have a vision that was full blown. I had all these hiccups, sometimes not wanting to do this, sometimes feeling like it wasn’t going anywhere. Then I started to enjoy it and then soon began to love it. Everyday I would write a new blog entry occasionally missing days here and there but always coming back to it, forming a bond with consistency. I started to see a vision of what I wanted to accomplish but just kept working on the blogs. Finally I saw my brand in Dare to Habit and decided to incorporate it in my new wellness studio. I saw the final piece of it but didn’t know how I was going to make it happen. I thought of everything that needed to happen and that’s when the overwhelm and burnout happened. When you take on to much at once that is what happens. That is why I have a vision in my head of my dream and me achieving it and what that looks like, but I am also making realistic steps towards achieving it. It isn’t a let’s just visualize it and hope for the winds to carry me there, NO. Reaching goals requires work, effort, and actions from you.

What is a realistic set of actions you can take in order to achieve your goal? I want you to think about what it is going to take from you to be slow and steady to get there. What do you have to do daily, weekly, minute by minute in order to stay the course. Charge like the rhino you are!

Today was a 7.
