The Settling

After a good cry the day after everything begins to settle. I’m not talking about just a regular cry, I’m talking about the puffy eyes, snot pouring cry. Those are the ones that bring up all the good stuff. The dark stuff. The old stuff. But the day after it can feel like a hangover, and everything you went through is just settling down and leaving. This goes for a lot of things in life as well. The settling, also known as the processing period is a time after some emotional change. Whether its a deep dark cry, or a move, or a new job whatever the cause the processing sets in. It’s time for you to find your routine, where you fit in throughout the day and that can be a lot to take in and accept.

So after anything emotional or any type of change its important to do nothing. Don’t worry about where you have to be, or what you have to do. I know I have been saying do nothing a lot lately, and that may not resonate with you personally, but for me it is. So of course do what is right for you, but hibernation and isolation is part of my winter song, along with a lot of change. It’s life though, change. Everyone hates it but it is the one constant thing you can expect for things to change. Resistance is futile and if you try to get stuck in the past you only resist more. But I digress today.

But after any event that leaves you ungrounded, uncertain and feeling as I like to call it meh, that is when it is best to give yourself space to process it. Imagine it like a computer right, and you are doing a disc defragmentation. How long does that process take? It can be super fast sometimes depending on what’s going on with your computer or it can take hours or sometimes days. Thats the same thing with you. Now when that process is happening in the background of your computer are you using that computer a lot? Or do you give it time to do its thing? If you are playing on your computer while its happening how slow is that system running? Thats the same with you and your process. It takes time to rewire, release or reboot.

Be gentle and give yourself love and lots of tea. I’m a chamomile tea bitch! Chakras Aligned!!
