Reignite the passion in what you do.

There are moments that make you remember why you got into the field you are in. My name has become so known in my field of work in the area I live in and I couldn’t be more happy about this. Healing is what I love and I am so overjoyed when I get to truly help someone. But I have had such a hard time connecting with my clients like I use to. Not because I don’t love what I do but because of all the constraints of time and my environment. My current office has given me a lot and I am so grateful but every time I walk into it I feel a desire to run away as fast as I can. Which is why I am moving my practice and am beyond excited about it. I’ll tell you why I know its the right move.

Today I started work at a new job. What you have a job on top of your writing and owning a business. Yes! I do. The opportunity was so incredible I couldn’t turn it down. So while I was there in this beautiful space I realized that I got to be free to create again. I got to be “off”. Everyday at my business I have to be on. I have to provide the best level I can and sometimes that is just purely impossible. My clients know what I am capable and sometimes that is hard to live up too. I won best in my region and that makes me so proud but it can sometimes feel like such pressure to live up to that. While working at this place, where know one knew me, in the quiet atmosphere I got to create. I got to be my most authentic self. The music moved through me as I painted a masterpiece through manipulation and delicate touch. It was the best massage I have given in so long because there was no expectations. There was only being.

When I walk into my office, dread fills me. I’m so excited to see my clients and work on them but I know I won’t have a window or that there is no life in my space, in a dark room surrounded by bass dropping weights and music that just makes my body tense up. Normally if I go to a gym I’m like yes this is all awesome and cool. But to work in that kind of environment when you are trying to connect and heal someone is just so disruptive. Please don’t take this as complaints, I’ve done that too much, this is merely to paint a picture of why I lost my passion. When you are unhappy in your work it effects everything else. All I want to do is run away and escape it, but I am too responsible and disciplined for that.

But being in the quiet spa induced setting I felt reborn. The session flew by and I felt so grateful for every moment of it. I got to fall in love with what I do because I got to do it in a place that brought me such peace and love. So let me ask you, is there something in your life right now that is just making you resent or hate or disconnect from what you do? Use it as motivation to change things. I use to feel trapped by the walls but I changed that perspective and used a different approach. I put myself there, I could get out, I was in control of changing it. Which is exactly what I did. I checked out so many places until I knew in my gut it was right. And now the real work begins. I’m nervous because I’m putting to much pressure on myself but I’m excited because I can’t wait to create a space filled with all the things my last space lacked. Plants, windows, meditation, loving nurturing energy! Yay.

Picking up that other job was exactly what I needed in order to rekindle the love I have with massage and healing. That is why I am asking you what could you do to rekindle the love you have for your career? Or maybe you are stuck trying to find a career. What could you do right now to find the passion. Every skill we learn in life prepares us for our future. So every step no matter how wrong it may be will give us so much experience for whatever it is you are trying to do. Maybe you just need to find a job that allows you to be mindless so when its done you can focus on building your own business. Maybe you need to take a trip away for a week to just have a hard reset from work. Maybe you need to try a bunch of different trades to see which one suits you. Remember you won’t be perfect at it, you may not even be great, but if you stick with it you can pull greatness out of yourself with consistency.

Falling in love with what you do isn’t that hard you just have to find out the things that suit you and speak to your soul. What you can do is look at all aspects of your dream job, what are the things about it that make you feel joy. This doesn’t just have to be the work aspect of it. It can be the type of people or lack of people. It can be the schedule or the amount of responsibility. Maybe you like chaos so that you can find ways to make structure. Sit down with yourself and write down all the things you want in a job. I want you to get detailed with this so that way you can begin to attract that job into your life. (Remember manifestations don’t happen right away. You have to walk into it, build it, take action towards it, as at the same time it’s coming at you like a freight train.) They say if you love what you do you will never work a day in your life. But I want to take this a step further, if you love what you do, where you do it, when you do it, you will never work a day in your life. Because even loving something isn’t always enough, you have to love the where, what, how, and especially the why.

Today was a 9.
