The nouns of you

Who are you? When asked this question we think about the things surrounding us. Like I am an athlete or I am a healer. Words used to describe what it is we do. These descriptors only describe the actions of who we are, not the actual thing we are. Lets really dive into understanding the difference between what you do and who you are so that way we can manifest what you are meant to do.

Now what do I mean by this? We tend to describe ourselves with these action words, caring, loving, athlete, etc. But does that really describe who you are? When I say that I am a healer, that is the actions I do in this world. When I say I am a creator, that is the actions that surround me, but what is on a deeper level? It requires presence. Instead of me saying I am a healer I will instead say I am is love. Who I am is compassion. Who I am is gratitude. The wording here is crucial, it isn’t describing an action that will or won’t happen, it is describing who I am right in this moment. It requires you to bring awareness to your feelings, your inner fight and challenge the egoic mind. Instead of allowing your thoughts to dictate who you are, this is a feeling in your gut.

For instance I am gratitude right in this moment. I feel that coursing throughout my body. It is not an action, or a thought process, it is beyond that. It is an embodiment of the thing you are. So when your mind is racing, your thoughts create doubt, fear, anxiety it blocks you from feeling who you are. Instead you use the ego to create your reality. In that egoic reality you are a healer, you are a writer, you are worried, you are depressed, you are unhealthy, you are this or that. It is when we can quiet the internal cacophony and listen to what it is we are embodying. That is who you are.

Do you embody courage? Well then your mind will try to challenge that in every manner of obstacles to create fear, to create anxiety. What we embody is who we really are, it is only through the mind chatter we can’t recognize it and we seek outside of ourselves to understand who we are. Well how do you tell the difference between the ego and the embodiment? Ego is the voice in your head, it can create any emotion, any form of drama, happiness, and you will literally have a body reaction to those thoughts. The embodiment is a place where thought doesn’t exist. In an embodiment you are truly who you are, you are love, you are courage. You feel it entirely, like as if you were drunk and felt it in your body. It’s an all over feeling that steams from your diaphragm to your chest and exudes up, out, all over.

What does your embodiment tell you? It guides you to what you were meant to do. Are you patience? Are you structured? Now with those parts of you lets incorporate the ego. What are the things you like to do, the thoughts you have? Maybe you like numbers, and drawing. Maybe you love a challenge, for someone like this maybe graphic design, or architecture. You incorporate your embodiment with your ego and that helps you to see where you are to go in life.

Now there may be things in the way now. Things like well I won’t enjoy this or that, or I am afraid to take the risk, this is again your ego. Because you are not embodying who you are the mind noise is like well you can’t do this because all those outside influences, internal insecurities are telling you you can’t. This is when you are able to take the leap, by practicing embodiment of who you are. When those negative obstacles come into play flip the script. Tell yourself who you are. Embody it, then make a plan after you reached a place where your nervous system calms down from the fear.

I am courage. I am courage. I am courage. Over and over I say this to myself now when I start to feel fear when I am thinking about the future. I say it until I feel the calm presence wash over me. Then I think about ways to practice it. Make plans, see obstacles, practice courage again to calm down, then back to outcome and so on. This is what I have begun to learn from meditating, from practicing gratitude daily, and when I don’t do these things it’s hard to find my embodiment.

So my friend, I want you to find what your embodiment is. Sit with it for a while, don’t allow your thoughts to dictate who you are. Let your true light shine to guide you. Once you have that, brainstorm what it is you want to do with it. I hope this shines light on you, and helps you understand who you are and how magical it truly is.
